First Baptist Church Woodstock has been part of the Woodstock, Georgia community for a long time, tracing its roots back to 1837. But what makes them a natural partner for Krause for a Cause isn't their size or their history — it's the way they show up for their neighbors. Their guiding idea is simple: help people, and meet real needs where people actually live.
Serving Woodstock and Cherokee County
That commitment shows up most plainly through their Food Ministry. Nearly 20,000 people in Cherokee County face food insecurity, and the church's food pantry helps both members and local residents access groceries for their families, supported by food drives, local businesses, and everyday donors. Alongside it, a community thrift store and clothing closet make essentials affordable for families who need a hand.
Their care reaches well beyond the pantry doors. Through WeFoster, the church works to provide caring homes for foster children in the community. Church on the Street, running since 1991, sends volunteers out every Saturday — rain or shine — to share food, water, socks, coats, and encouragement with homeless men and women across the Atlanta area. A Refugee Ministry offers survival assistance and ongoing support to newly arrived families, while citizenship and English (ESL) classes help immigrants build a foothold. There's also dedicated outreach for veterans and military families, seniors, and the deaf community, plus a Disaster Relief team that mobilizes when storms hit.
That's a wide net of care, and it's why First Baptist Church Woodstock is a meaningful partner. Every cause we support at the car show is about turning a good day with great people into real help for the folks who need it — and this is an organization already doing that work, week in and week out, right here in our backyard.
